The Detroit Lakes boys cross country team finished in ninth place at the annual Detroit Lakes Invitational at Lakeview Golf Course on Thursday evening.
Senior Cole Weber was the first runner in for Detroit Lakes for the second-straight meet (finishing 23rd overall in Staples on August 30th). Webber finished 29th on Thursday with a time of 20:38.0.
Braydon Francis, who missed the Staples meet, finished 40th overall with a time of 21:49.1. East Grand Forks senior Jonathan Krueger won the meet with a time of 17:42.3, beating out Alexandria’s Joel Brault by less than a second (17:43.2).
Fergus Falls won the meet with 57 total points. East Grand Forks finished second with 78 points, and Alexandria was third with 81 points.
The Laker Girls cross country team finished in seventh place.
The Laker’s next meet will be the Lucky Lindy in Little Falls on Thursday, September 16th. There are currently 23-teams scheduled to attend, including Section 8AA opponents Alexandria, Rocori, Little Falls, and Pequot Lakes.
