DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The annual Detroit Lakes Peach Sale begins, today in support of the Detroit Lakes Breakfast Rotary.
The event which has been going on for more than 20 years in Detroit Lakes helps fund Detroit Lakes’ Breakfast Rotary community projects.
A full lug of peaches will sell this year for $37 or a half lug for $22, “People should keep in mind the peaches are of various sizes so you can maybe get 40 or 50 peaches in a lug. If you’re going to make pies, you should choose larger peaches, but if you’re going to be eating them, pick a box with more peaches,” said Kathy Michaelson one of the event organizers.
Peaches will be on sale Thursday, Aug. 12 through Friday, Aug. 13 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Nereson’s and the Boys and Girls Thrift Store in front of the old Sears building in Detroit Lakes.
