MINNEAPOLIS (KDLM) – A Becker County Sheriff’s Deputy was honored by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety recently.
Matt Gerving with the Becker County Sheriff’s Office was recognized at the Minnesota Twins game on Sunday, July 11 as a “DWI Patrol All-Star”.
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety recognized 61 law enforcement officers, troopers, deputies and prosecutors for their work in keeping dangerous drivers off of Minnesota roadways.
Gerving made 39 DWI arrests in Becker County in 2020, in total more than 22,500 DWI arrests were made across Minnesota.
The State Patrol says in the last five years more than 450 people died in drunk driving-related crashes on Minnesota roadways.
