PARK RAPIDS (KDLM) – More than 20 Line 3 protesters were arrested near Park Rapids recently.
On July 1st Deputies responded to a trespassing complaint and reports that Highway 71 was being blocked by protesters. Approximately 100-protesters blocked Highway 71 and chained themselves to heavy equipment.
Some protesters began spray painting on the exposed pipe and screaming vulgarities about Enbridge. Damage was done to an Enbridge truck at the scene and an Enbridge worker was attacked by several protesters before escaping the angry crowd in his damaged vehicle.
28 protesters were arrested and transported to the Hubbard County Jail.
