Vertin has announced the promotion of Alex Waltz to General Manager, overseeing five funeral homes in the area.
Waltz will provide leadership for David Donehower Funeral & Cremation Service and West Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service in Perham, Furey Funeral Home in Frazee and Larson Funeral & Cremation Service in Pelican Rapids.
Waltz joined Vertin in January as a Traveling Funeral Director and later served in an interim management role, supporting funeral home operations throughout the area.
In his new position, Waltz will oversee operations at all five locations and provide leadership and support to funeral directors, office staff, the transfer care team and other employees.
Waltz says he is grateful for the opportunity to lead a dedicated group of professionals and wants to build on the strong reputations of each of the area funeral homes.
He says his goal is to make sure families feel genuinely cared for during one of the most difficult times in their lives.
