Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The unofficial start to the second half of the Major League Baseball season has arrived, and the Minnesota Twins are back in action tonight.
Minnesota opens a three-game series against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field, with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. First pitch on Saturday and Sunday is scheduled for 1:20 p.m.
The Twins come out of the All-Star break at 48 and 49, sitting third in the American League Central behind the Cleveland Guardians and Chicago White Sox. Minnesota will need a strong stretch run to climb back into the playoff picture over the season’s final months.
The Cubs enter the weekend at 54 and 42, chasing the Milwaukee Brewers atop the National League Central and holding firm in the Wild Card race.
After wrapping up the weekend on the North Side, the Twins head to Cleveland for a four-game set with the Guardians beginning Monday.
