Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Wild will hit the road to start the 2026-27 campaign, opening at the Nashville Predators on Thursday, October 1st at 7:00 p.m.
The Wild announced their full regular season schedule Thursday, joining the rest of the NHL as the league drops the puck on opening night September 29th. The 2026-27 season marks the first time NHL teams will play 84 games, up from the 82-game slate that had been standard since the 1990s. Minnesota’s schedule splits evenly with 42 home games and 42 on the road.
The home opener comes two nights after the Nashville trip, when the Wild welcome the Boston Bruins to Grand Casino Arena on Saturday, October 3rd at 7:00 p.m. It will be Boston’s only visit to St. Paul this season.
October will test the club early. The Wild play 10 road games during the month, including a season-long, five-game road trip from October 20th to 27th. The home schedule picks up as the calendar turns, with December and January holding the most home games at nine apiece. Minnesota’s longest homestand runs seven games from December 12th to 28th.
In all, the Wild’s home slate features 23 weekend games, with five on Friday, 11 on Saturday and seven on Sunday. Divisional play carries added weight under the expanded format. The move to 84 games adds two extra divisional matchups for every team. Minnesota will play 28 games against Central Division opponents and 24 against the Pacific Division.
The Wild close out the regular season on the road, wrapping up at the Colorado Avalanche on April 10th.
Pricing and on-sale dates for single-game tickets will be announced later this summer.
