Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Twins were unable to complete the series sweep, falling to the Cleveland Guardians 5-2 in Thursday’s finale at Target Field.
Kendry Rojas was tagged with the loss, allowing three runs on two hits and three walks over two innings of work. Cleveland starter Gavin Williams got the win, striking out eleven over seven innings to pick up the decision.
Royce Lewis provided one of the lone bright spots for Minnesota, going 2-for-4 with a home run and a run batted in. Tristan Gray also drove in a run for the Twins, who managed just three hits as a team.
The loss snapped Minnesota’s bid for a fifth straight win after the Twins had taken the first two games of the series, 3-1 on Tuesday and 6-5 on Wednesday.
Minnesota will look to bounce back tonight when it opens a three-game series at home against the Los Angeles Angels. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. at Target Field.
