Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Vikings are set to close out their offseason program today with one final practice at the TCO Performance Center in Eagan.
Thursday’s session caps a spring schedule that opened with organized team activities in late May and ran through a three-day mandatory minicamp June 9th through the 11th. With the workouts complete, players will scatter for roughly five weeks before reporting to training camp in late July to begin preparations for the 2026 regular season.
The headline storyline heading into the break remains unsettled at the game’s most important position. Veteran Kyler Murray, who signed with Minnesota in March after parting ways with the Arizona Cardinals, has split first-team reps throughout the spring with J.J. McCarthy, the 2024 first-round pick entering his second year. Carson Wentz and Max Brosmer round out a crowded quarterback room. Head Coach Kevin O’Connell has repeatedly praised the way Murray and McCarthy have handled the competition, though a starter is not expected to be named until camp.
The offseason marked a period of change for the franchise. The Vikings hired Nolan Teasley as their permanent general manager, bringing him over from the Seattle Seahawks. On the roster side, Minnesota added wide receiver Jauan Jennings to an already deep group headlined by Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, while trading edge rusher Jonathan Greenard to Philadelphia. In all, the club has welcomed roughly 35 to 40 new faces since the end of last season.
The Vikings open the 2026 campaign with a pair of divisional matchups, part of a slate that also includes an international game against the San Francisco 49ers in Mexico City.
