HAWLEY (KDLM) – After being cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hawley Rodeo is back this weekend.
The Barnes PRCA Rodeo’s award winning animal athletes including bulls, bucking horses and saddle horses will compete on the hillside arena off Highway 10.
“We are excited to have the rodeo come back to Hawley, this is the 61st year and it’s a hometown favorite for a lot of people,” said Gretchen Kirchmann the event organizer.
Rodeo, one of the fastest growing spectator sports in the country has a strong sense of tradition and value. The Iowa-based stock contracting company, Barnes PRCA Rodeo is known for paying respect to the United States Armed Forces during their rodeo performances. American flags flown over the bucking chutes and during the grand entry are signature elements at the event.
Friday and Saturday’s events begin at 7 p.m.
