Vikings Part Ways With Four Front Office Staffers

Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – New Minnesota Vikings general manager Nolan Teasley is reshaping the team’s front office, parting ways with four staffers in his first major personnel move since taking the job.

The Vikings cut ties with senior personnel executive Jamaal Stephenson, assistant director of college scouting Pat Roberts and pro scout Salli Clavelle on Thursday, June 11th, according to a report from The Athletic’s Alec Lewis. Assistant general manager Demitrius Washington is also leaving, though ESPN’s Kevin Seifert reported that Washington asked for and was granted permission to pursue opportunities elsewhere.

The shakeup marks a sharp departure from how the Vikings handled their last front office transition. When Kwesi Adofo-Mensah took over as general manager in 2022, he largely kept the existing staff in place. Teasley, hired June 1st after 13 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, is moving quickly to put his own stamp on the operation.

Washington’s exit leaves an opening at assistant general manager. Lewis noted the timing could work in the Vikings’ favor, since teams typically don’t block executives from interviewing for that kind of promotion elsewhere.

Reporting indicates the four departures represent the extent of Teasley’s initial changes, though additions to the staff are expected.

In other team news, the Vikings wrapped up mandatory minicamp this week.
