DL Man Charged with Possessing Almost 300 Files of CSAM

Detroit Lakes, MN – A Detroit Lakes man is being charged for possessing almost 300 files of child sexual abuse materials.

Prosecutors say that 20-year-old Isaiah Jerome Bjornlie has been charged with five counts of possessing child sexual abuse materials containing a minor under the age of 14.

Court documents say Becker County deputies received a tip in October regarding a video on Instagram that featured a minor having sexual content with a man. Investigators followed a trail of email accounts and online bills that eventually led back to Bjornlie.

In December, investigators obtained a search warrant for Bjornlie’s home, car, person, and cell phone. Investigators say that initial estimates for the total number of videos was close to 300.

Bjornlie made his first court appearance Thursday morning, but has not been taken into custody.
