Essentia Health has announced that CEO Dr. David Herman has been appointed to the Board of Commissioners for The Joint Commission.
The Joint Commission is a national organization focused on healthcare quality and patient safety. Its Board of Commissioners helps guide leadership and strategy for healthcare systems across the country.
Dr. Herman says he is honored to serve on the board and looks forward to working with other healthcare leaders to support quality, safety, innovation, and access to care.
Essentia Health says Herman has focused much of his career on quality improvement, patient safety, and expanding access to rural healthcare. Under his leadership, the organization says it has strengthened clinical care, invested in workforce development, and expanded services across the region.
