A longtime local business is marking a major milestone in Detroit Lakes.
Swenson’s Repair and Rental is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. The business was founded in 1966 by Darrel and Joan Swenson, and continues today under the ownership of their grandson, Ryan Swenson, and his wife Karla, who took over operations last year.
Swenson says their goal is to carry on the family legacy by staying committed to the community, keeping the business local, and continuing to offer quality products at fair prices.
Swenson’s offers a full range of services, including expert equipment repair and maintenance. Their shop features factory-trained technicians who handle everything from routine service to major engine and hydraulic repairs, and DOT inspections.
The business also provides equipment rentals for do-it-yourself projects and construction needs, with a wide selection of tools, trailers, and machinery available.
In addition to his work at the business, Swenson recently retired as volunteer fire chief for the Detroit Lakes Fire Department after over 20 years of service.
To celebrate the anniversary, Swenson’s Repair is hosting an open house Friday, May 8th from 8 to 5, and Saturday, May 9th from 8 to noon at their location on Randolph Road. Stop in for some great deals.
