Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Twins claimed their first series win of the season Wednesday night, beating the Detroit Tigers 8-6 at Target Field.
Minnesota jumped out early with six runs in the bottom of the 1st inning and held on through a late Detroit rally. Byron Buxton led the offense with three hits, and Royce Lewis added two RBIs.
On the mound, Bailey Ober picked up his first win of the year, going five and two-thirds innings while giving up two runs on five hits.
The Twins move to 6-6 on the season. They’ll send Mick Abel to the mound for this afternoon’s series finale against Detroit.
