Vikings set to retain Addison with fifth-year option

Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Vikings are planning to keep wide receiver Jordan Addison around for at least one more year.

Executive Vice President of Football Operations Rob Brzezinski announced Monday that the team intends to exercise the fifth-year option on Addison’s rookie contract, signaling the organization’s continued confidence in the 24-year-old pass catcher heading into his fourth NFL season.

Addison recorded 42 receptions for 610 yards and three touchdowns in 2025, serving as the team’s second wide receiver. While the numbers represent a modest output, the Vikings’ front office appears committed to his long-term development within the offense.

The club has until May to make the option official. Once exercised, it would keep Addison under contract through the 2027 season.

Addison was selected by Minnesota in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of USC. The option decision is part of a broader evaluation of the Vikings’ receiving corps as the team shapes its roster ahead of the upcoming season.
