Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The North Dakota State Bison’s impressive season came to a disappointing end Thursday, as the Michigan State Spartans handed them a commanding 92-67 defeat in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at KeyBank Center in Buffalo.

Michigan State wasted no time asserting their dominance, building a 20-point halftime lead that proved insurmountable for the Bison. North Dakota State struggled to find any offensive rhythm in the second half and was unable to chip away at the deficit in a meaningful way.

Damari Wheeler-Thomas provided a bright spot for NDSU, leading the team with 16 points in what turned out to be the final game of his team’s season.

Despite the lopsided loss, the Bison can look back on a successful year. North Dakota State finishes the 2024-25 season with a strong 27-8 record, a testament to the program’s consistency and competitiveness throughout the year
