Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Wild picked up a valuable point Thursday night, but ultimately fell to the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 in a shootout at Grand Casino Arena.
Matt Boldy and Kirill Kaprizov each found the back of the net for Minnesota, helping the Wild force overtime and keep their playoff hopes alive. However, the Flyers took the extra point, winning the three-round shootout 1-0.
The loss leaves Minnesota in third place in the Central Division with 88 points on the season. Despite the defeat, the Wild will look to rebound quickly — they return to the ice Saturday night when they host the New York Rangers.
