Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Timberwolves’ struggles continued Wednesday night as they were blown out by the Los Angeles Clippers 153–128 at Intuit Dome, extending their losing streak to three games and raising real concerns about the team’s form heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
The Wolves never found their footing. Minnesota trailed by as many as 31 points at one stage, a lopsided margin that tells the full story of a night when nothing went right for the visitors. The 153 points allowed marked an ugly evening for a defense that will need to regroup quickly.
Anthony Edwards was the lone bright spot, pouring in 36 points in the defeat. The All-Star guard has continued to produce even as the team around him has faltered, but his individual brilliance was not enough to prevent the Wolves from being overwhelmed on both ends of the floor.
Minnesota now sits at 40–27 on the season, good for sixth place in the Western Conference.
There is no rest for the weary. The Wolves travel north to face the Golden State Warriors on Friday night.
