Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Timberwolves are bringing back a familiar face to their backcourt.
Veteran point guard Mike Conley has rejoined Minnesota after a brief two-week absence that included multiple trades and a waiver move. The Timberwolves signed the 38-year-old on Tuesday, restoring a key veteran presence to the roster.
Conley was originally dealt by Minnesota to the Chicago Bulls earlier this month. He was then traded again to the Charlotte Hornets before being waived, making him a free agent and clearing the way for his return to the Wolves.
In 44 games this season, Conley is averaging 4.5 points per contest while continuing to serve as a steady leader and facilitator on the floor. Known for his experience and composure, his return provides additional depth and leadership for a Minnesota team preparing for the stretch run.
Conley could make his return to action Friday night when the Timberwolves host the Dallas Mavericks at Target Center.
