One person Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash Tuesday Ffternoon in Clay County

One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Clay County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred at 1:06 p.m. on Jan. 27 at the intersection of eastbound Highway 10 and County Road 21 near Hawley.

A 2013 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling eastbound on Highway 10 when it collided with a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling northbound on County Road 21.

The driver of the 2022 Silverado, 47-year-old Jonathan David Swenson of Hawley, Minnesota, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the Hawley Emergency Room. Authorities report he was wearing a seat belt and alcohol was not suspected.

The driver of the 2013 Silverado, 67-year-old Clay William Halverson of Twin Valley, Minnesota, was not injured. His airbags deployed in the crash. He was also wearing a seat belt, and alcohol was not suspected.

Road conditions were reported as dry at the time of the crash.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene. The incident remains under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol.
