Recycle Your Holiday Lights in Becker County

Becker County Environmental Services is once again offering residents a convenient way to recycle holiday lights with designated drop-off sites. Community drop-off points include:

● Beug’s Ace Hardware, Detroit Lakes

● Boys and Girls Club Thrift Store

● Washington Square Mall

● Becker County Courthouse, third floor

● Becker County Transfer Station

Residents can also dispose of Fresh Cut Christmas Trees at the Becker County Transfer Stations. Residents are encouraged to check the Becker County website for current hours and any specific disposal requirements before visiting.

In addition to holiday recycling, Becker County Environmental Services accepts the following items at no charge for Becker County residents and businesses:

● Appliances

● Waste oil

● Oil filters

● Automotive batteries

● Printer cartridges

● Hardcover books

● Fluorescent bulbs (limit 10 per visit)

● Passenger vehicle tires (limit four per visit)

The Environmental Services Department provides cost-effective and environmentally responsible solid waste management while following federal and state environmental guidelines.
