Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Timberwolves squandered a nine-point lead Wednesday night, falling 116-110 to the Memphis Grizzlies at Target Center.

The game slipped away during a disastrous third-quarter stretch. Minnesota appeared in control midway through the third period before Memphis unleashed a devastating 21-5 run that flipped the momentum. The Grizzlies seized the lead and never relinquished it, keeping the Timberwolves at arm’s length throughout the final frame.

Julius Randle led the Wolves with 21 points. The loss dropped Minnesota to 17-10 on the season, though they remain in sixth place in the competitive Western Conference standings.

The Timberwolves will look to bounce back quickly when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday night at Target Center.
