Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Twins have addressed their need at first base, signing veteran Josh Bell to a one-year contract worth $7 million.
The deal includes a mutual option for the 2027 season, giving both sides flexibility beyond the upcoming year.
Bell, 33, spent the 2025 season with the Washington Nationals, where he provided steady power in the middle of the lineup. In 140 games, the switch-hitter batted .237 with 22 home runs and 63 RBIs.
A two-time All-Star, Bell brings experience and proven pop to a Twins roster looking to solidify its infield and add run production. He has previously played for Pittsburgh, San Diego, Cleveland, Miami, and Washington during his 11-year major league career.
The Twins are expected to plug Bell in as their primary first baseman heading into spring training.
