Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Vikings will be without one of their top defensive playmakers for the remainder of the 2025 season.
The team announced Tuesday that edge rusher Jonathan Greenard will miss the rest of the year due to a shoulder injury. Greenard originally suffered the injury in Week 10 and was sidelined for two games before returning in a limited role. He has been used primarily as a rotational pass rusher over the past three weeks.
Greenard, a 2024 Pro Bowler, appeared in 12 games this season and recorded three sacks. While his production dipped compared to last year, he remained a key part of the Vikings’ pass-rush rotation and defensive depth.
His absence leaves a notable gap along the defensive front as Minnesota pushes toward the end of the regular season.
The Vikings will try to adjust without Greenard when they visit the New York Giants on Sunday.
