Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Vikings delivered a decisive blow to the Dallas Cowboys’ playoff hopes with a 34-26 victory at AT&T Stadium on Sunday Night Football, even as their own postseason dreams had already been dashed earlier in the day.

Fullback CJ Ham provided the pivotal moment in the third quarter, scoring a go-ahead touchdown that gave Minnesota control of the contest. The Vikings extended their lead in the fourth quarter when quarterback JJ McCarthy connected with wide receiver Jalen Nailor for a touchdown pass that effectively sealed the win.

McCarthy turned in a solid performance in the prime-time spotlight, completing passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns while throwing one interception. The young quarterback also contributed on the ground with a rushing touchdown, showcasing his dual-threat capabilities.

Despite the victory improving their record to 6-8, the Vikings had been officially eliminated from playoff contention earlier Sunday, turning the game into a spoiler opportunity that Minnesota capitalized on fully. For Dallas, the loss pushes them dangerously close to playoff elimination as their season continues to unravel.

The Vikings will look to close out their season on a positive note when they travel to face the New York Giants next Sunday.
