Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Twins will enter the 2026 MLB Draft with their highest selection in nearly a decade after falling one spot in Tuesday’s draft lottery.
Minnesota secured the third overall pick, positioning the club behind only the Chicago White Sox and Tampa Bay Rays. The selection marks the Twins’ highest draft position since 2017, when they held the first overall pick and selected shortstop Royce Lewis, who remains with the organization as a key infielder.
The 2026 MLB Draft is scheduled for next summer, giving the Twins’ front office ample time to scout and evaluate talent.
