Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Timberwolves continued their trend of strong fourth-quarter performances, rallying to defeat the New Orleans Pelicans 125-116 at Smoothie King Center on Thursday night.
Trailing 90-88 heading into the final period, the Timberwolves turned up the intensity when it mattered most, outscoring the Pelicans 37-26 in the fourth quarter to secure the road victory.
Julius Randle led the charge for Minnesota with a game-high 28 points. The Timberwolves also received a significant spark off the bench from Naz Reid, who contributed 19 points in the winning effort.
The victory improves Minnesota’s record to 14-8, keeping them firmly positioned in sixth place in the competitive Western Conference standings. The Timberwolves will look to build on this momentum when they return home to face the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night.
