Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – Jesper Wallstedt turned aside all 32 shots he faced as the Minnesota Wild defeated the Edmonton Oilers 1-0 at Rogers Place on Tuesday night, recording his league-leading fourth shutout of the season.

The 22-year-old Swedish goaltender was stellar throughout the contest, stifling the Oilers’ offensive attack and preserving Jonas Brodin’s first-period goal as the game-winner.

Brodin broke the scoreless tie early, providing the only offense Minnesota would need on this night. The veteran defenseman’s timely strike proved to be the difference in a tightly contested defensive battle.

The victory moves Minnesota into third place in the competitive Central Division with 35 points. The Wild will look to build on this momentum as they continue their road trip, visiting the Calgary Flames on Thursday night.
