Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Wild kept their impressive run alive on Saturday night, extending their point streak to 11 games despite falling 3-2 to the Buffalo Sabres in a shootout at Grand Casino Arena.

Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy found the back of the net for Minnesota in regulation, but the Wild couldn’t solve the Sabres in the shootout, which went four rounds before Buffalo emerged victorious.

The point streak, which now stands at 11 games, has helped solidify Minnesota’s position in the playoff race. The Wild remain in third place in the Central Division with 33 points as they continue to battle for positioning in the highly competitive conference.

The Wild will look to bounce back quickly as they head north of the border for their next challenge. Minnesota visits the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night, facing off against Connor McDavid and one of the league’s most potent offenses.

With the point streak still intact, the Wild will aim to keep the momentum rolling as they continue their push through the season.
