Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Laker volleyball team’s season came to a close Thursday night with a straight-sets loss to the St. Cloud Tech Tigers in the Section Quarterfinals. The Tigers swept the match 25-13, 25-22, 25-21 to advance in the postseason tournament.
St. Cloud Tech’s offense proved too much for the Lakers to handle, with outside hitter Miracle Jensen leading the charge for the Tigers. Despite showing improvement in the second and third sets, the Lakers couldn’t overcome Tech’s momentum.
The Lakers conclude their season with a 7-18 overall record. While the team faced challenges throughout the year, the future looks promising as the majority of the roster will return for next season.
However, the Lakers will bid farewell to three seniors, Tenley Bement, Amelia May, and Alivia Kathrein.
