Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – Isaiah Rodgers delivered one of the most dominant defensive performances in recent Minnesota Vikings memory, leading the team to a commanding 48-10 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals at US Bank Stadium on Sunday.
The Vikings’ cornerback put together a first-half masterpiece that effectively decided the contest before intermission. Rodgers forced two fumbles, recorded an interception, and returned two of those turnovers for defensive touchdowns, single-handedly dismantling Cincinnati’s offensive game plan.
The Vikings’ offensive unit complemented Rodgers’ heroics with a balanced attack. Quarterback Carson Wentz threw two touchdown passes, efficiently managing the game while the defense created short fields throughout the afternoon. Running back Jordan Mason powered through Cincinnati’s front seven for 116 rushing yards and two touchdowns, providing the ground game punch Minnesota needed to control the tempo.
The lopsided victory improves the Vikings to 2-1 on the young season.
Minnesota will travel across the Atlantic to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dublin, Ireland. Kickoff is at 8:30 a.m.
