Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Lynx made an emphatic statement in their postseason debut, dismantling the Golden State Valkyries 101-72 in Game One of their First Round series at Target Center on Sunday.
Minnesota controlled the contest from start to finish, building a commanding lead that reached as many as 36 points during the blowout victory. The Lynx showcased their depth and offensive firepower against an overmatched Valkyries squad, making their first playoff appearance.
Napheesa Collier led the charge for Minnesota with 20 points, continuing her stellar season with an efficient performance on both ends of the floor. The Lynx received a significant boost from their bench, with Natisha Hiedeman contributing 18 points in a key reserve role.
The lopsided result puts Minnesota in the driver’s seat of the best-of-three series, now holding a 1-0 advantage as the action shifts to the West Coast. The Lynx will look to close out the series when they travel to Golden State for Game Two on Wednesday.
