Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – Anthony Barr’s NFL journey came to an official close yesterday as the former Vikings linebacker announced his retirement at a press conference.
The announcement marks the end of a career that began when Minnesota selected Barr with their first-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Over nearly a decade, he became a cornerstone of the Vikings defense, earning four Pro Bowl selections during his initial stint with the team from 2014 to 2021.
After a brief departure from Minnesota, Barr returned for one final chapter in 2023, appearing in four games wearing purple once again. He helped define their defense throughout the 2010s and early 2020s.
