The City of Fergus Falls is warning residents about an unofficial survey making its way through the community via text message and possibly social media.
The survey is labeled the “Fergus Falls Issues Survey,” but city officials say it did not originate from the City of Fergus Falls, nor was it created or distributed by any city department.
The Fergus Falls Chamber of Commerce also confirmed the survey did not come from Chamber staff, and that the organization does not share member contact information.
Residents are urged to use caution when receiving unsolicited messages or sharing personal information online.
If you received the survey and have concerns, contact: Fergus Falls City Hall: 218-332-5400
Tips for avoiding scams and phishing surveys:
• Verify the sender before clicking links or filling out forms.
• Never provide your Social Security number, banking info, or passwords in an online survey.
• When in doubt, call the city directly or check their official website: www.ci.fergus-falls.mn.us
