Freshmen at Detroit Lakes High School are taking a flavorful approach to innovation by crafting their own unique Lay’s potato chip flavors. As part of the school’s Innovation Unit, students have designed custom chip bags, developed persuasive sales pitches, and presented their creations to classmates. The entire school community will soon vote to crown the “Chip Champion.”
This creative endeavor mirrors Lay’s “Do Us A Flavor” contest, which invites fans to propose new chip flavors. The contest has previously led to the release of fan-inspired varieties like Cheesy Garlic Bread and Southern Biscuits & Gravy.
Community members are encouraged to share their favorite student-created flavors on social media using the hashtags #dlpschools and #SailsUp. This initiative not only fosters creativity but also engages the broader community in the students’ innovative projects.
