A Lino Lakes man has been sentenced to more than six years in prison after providing fentanyl to a woman who later overdosed in Fergus Falls.
According to court records, 25-year-old Devon Leabo was sentenced to 51 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud for Great Bodily Harm by Drug Distribution and an additional 23 months for Illegally Possessing a Firearm as a Convict.
The case dates back to November 2023, when Fergus Falls Police responded to a 911 call about an overdose in a gas station bathroom. A witness performed CPR before emergency responders arrived and transported the woman to Lake Region Healthcare, where she was stabilized.
Investigators found that the woman had been communicating with Leabo through Snapchat, and police obtained photo records from his account. The images showed Leabo in possession of fentanyl pills and a firearm. As a convicted felon, he was already prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition due to a prior robbery conviction.
Leabo pleaded guilty in January and was sentenced this week.
