Project 412 Launches Pitch 412 Competition for Detroit Lakes Entrepreneurs

Have a business idea but need a boost to bring it to life? Project 412 is inviting Detroit Lakes-area entrepreneurs to enter Pitch 412, a business pitch competition where winners will share $5,500 in cash prizes.
Entrepreneurs can enter by March 6 at project412mn.org/pitch412. The first round involves submitting a business plan and a short video, with four finalists advancing to a live pitch event on May 6, 2025, at the Historic Holmes Theatre.
“There’s a lot of innovation in our area, and I’m excited to see who applies,” said Sarah Hofmann, Ecosystem Builder at Project 412. “No prior experience is needed—we’ve partnered with great resources like West Central MN Small Business Development Center, ILT Academy, and M State to provide guidance and support.”
Why Enter Pitch 412?

• Learn how to craft a strong business plan and develop a pitch.
• Gain media exposure and mentorship.
• Launch your idea into the community.
Who Can Enter?
• Open to new businesses, new ideas, or small business expansions in DL.
• Teams can have 1-4 members, with at least one being an executive-level employee.
• At least one team member must be 18 or older.
• Businesses must be based in or planning to form in Detroit Lakes.
Entrepreneurs can apply by March 6, and community members can RSVP to attend the live pitch event at project412mn.org/pitch412.
