By Trish Johnson Feb 10, 2025 | 7:06 AM

The Detroit Lakes Public Library is set to host an engaging Polar Fest presentation featuring local explorer Zach Fritz on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Fritz will recount his remarkable 106-day, 2,700-mile canoe journey from northern Minnesota to the Arctic Ocean, undertaken in the summer of 2024 alongside Taylor Rau. This adventure led them through some of North America’s most remote regions, where they faced vast lakes, relentless weather, and wild rivers. The event is free and open to the public, offering attendees a chance to experience their gripping story through photos and videos. The Detroit Lakes Public Library is located at 1000 Washington Ave.
