Minnesota Flyers Gymnastics Hits $2 Million Milestone for Expansion Project

By Trish Johnson Jan 28, 2025 | 4:23 AM

The Minnesota Flyers Gymnastics and Fitness facility has reached a major milestone in its Movement Matters Capital Campaign, raising $2 million—nearly 50% of its $4 million goal. This progress allows the facility to break ground this spring on a planned expansion that will increase its size from 12,000 to 34,000 square feet.
The expansion will accommodate 15 additional classes per week and include:
• A sensory room
• Dedicated physical therapy spaces
• A larger ninja area
• Expanded viewing and lobby areas
The need for growth is urgent, as waitlists for programming have reached 100 athletes, and over the past three years, 70 to 120 athletes have been turned away every 10 weeks.
“This expansion means creating opportunities for 135 more athletes,” said Leesa Lindgaard, Director of Minnesota Flyers Gymnastics and Fitness.
The facility serves over 800 athletes weekly and offers a wide range of programs, including gymnastics, strength training, home-school programs, and FlyTime, which supports individuals with disabilities.
With $2 million left to raise, the campaign seeks ongoing community support. Donations can be made via the Minnesota Flyers website, at the facility on Rossman Avenue, or through Venmo: @mnflyersgym.
