Becker County Court is seeing a range of cases this week, with notable developments involving drug charges, assault, and burglary.
Drug Charges:
Trisha Christine Mayoue, 40, of rural Detroit Lakes, faces felony second-degree drug charges for allegedly selling methamphetamine in a school zone in July 2024. She is also charged with felony third-degree drugs for a separate incident in January 2024 involving fentanyl sales. Both cases involve confidential informants working with the West Central Minnesota Drug Task Force. Mayoue was released without bail in November and is scheduled for a plea hearing on January 30 before District Judge Gretchen Thilmony.
Domestic Assault:
David Arthur Gillespie, 52, of Detroit Lakes, is charged with felony domestic assault by strangulation and two misdemeanor assault counts after a September 26 incident. Court records allege Gillespie strangled his fiancé during an argument and also assaulted a man who intervened. Bail was set at $30,000, with a $10,000 bond or $1,000 bail option under conditions, including no contact with the victim. Gillespie’s next court appearance is on February 5.
Burglary Tools and Theft:
Jamie Allen Danzeisen, 53, of rural Frazee, faces felony possession of burglary tools and misdemeanor theft charges after officers found him near campers at Swanson’s Repair and Rental in Detroit Lakes. Court records allege he attempted to steal propane tanks and tools, with signs of tampering at the scene. Released on September 30 without bail, Danzeisen is due in court on January 27 before District Judge Michelle W. Lawson.
