Plans to recover the 1935 Chevrolet from Big Detroit Lake, originally scheduled for this morning, have been postponed. The Becker County Historical Society and Museum announced the delay following the discovery of new information that requires further research.
Becky Mitchell, Director of the Museum, expressed gratitude for the volunteers who have worked to preserve this piece of local history:
“We are thankful for the efforts of Tri-State Diving and Lance Akers, as well as the many ways our region supports the preservation of Becker County’s history.”
While the recovery is on hold, the Museum plans to use the additional time to ensure the best approach to preserving this historical artifact.
Stay tuned for updates as plans evolve.
