Moorhead Man Charged in New Year’s Eve Shooting

A Moorhead man is facing felony charges in connection with a New Year’s Eve shooting in Mankato that left a woman seriously injured.
18-year-old Abdikhadar Fakhi Mohidin has been charged in Blue Earth County with five counts, including first-degree assault resulting in great bodily harm and second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.
Police say surveillance footage captured Mohidin and another suspect exchanging gunfire in a parking lot near a vehicle. A female bystander was struck during the shootout and later underwent surgery at a Rochester hospital.
Authorities also recovered marijuana and a handgun at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and no additional arrests have been reported.
