The Laker boys’ hockey team fell to East Grand Forks on Tuesday night on their home ice, losing by a final score of 1-0. The Lakers had five power-play opportunities but could not cash in. The Green Wave scored their lone goal in the second period after winning an offensive zone faceoff, with Jace Panzer scoring the game’s lone goal and Cole Bies given credit for the assist. DL’s goalie, Griffin Lindberg, had 26 saves and played well in net for the Lakers despite the loss. EGF’s Noah Schindele recorded his first shutout of the season with 18 saves.

The Lakers drop to 6-6-1 on the year and see their losing streak grow to five games. The Green Wave avenged a loss that they had back on November 26th to the Lakers when they lost 4-0 on their home ice. The Green Wave have now won five of their last six games and improved their record to 7-6-1 on the year.

The Lakers will return to action on Friday night when they travel to Sauk Rapids.
