About 40 kids, ages 11 to 15, participated in a three-hour class at M State, led by the ULTRA Snowmobile Club and DNR Conservation Officer Bill Landmark.
The training covered snowmobile regulations, safe riding practices, and included an outdoor driving test.
Instructors emphasized staying on marked trails, wearing proper gear, and building trust with the DNR.
The goal is to prepare young riders to safely enjoy Minnesota’s trails this winter.
