A rural Cass Lake man faces multiple charges after an unusual incident in Becker County. James Lawrence TeJohn, 39, has been charged in District Court with felony third-degree burglary, felony theft, and misdemeanor fourth-degree damage to property.
Court records show that on August 18, TeJohn allegedly took a golf cart worth approximately $4,500 from a home on Long Lake Drive. The homeowner reported leaving the cart in an open garage while watching TV. TeJohn was seen driving through the yard, damaging a wire fence before abandoning the cart near Long Lake Road and Highway 6.
Trail camera footage helped authorities identify TeJohn as the suspect. He was found later walking along Highway 59 near County Highway 22, which matched the description provided by the homeowner.
TeJohn’s case is part of a busy docket in Becker County, where courts are addressing multiple theft and property crimes this month.
