A Fergus Falls CEO has been sentenced for embezzling funds from two local associations. Katherine Vicki Renee Junge, who led the Lakes Region Association of Realtors and the Lakes Region MLS for 25 years, was found to have used company funds to pay off personal expenses. This included charges for Hulu and Amazon subscriptions dating back to 2016.
The embezzlement came to light in March 2022, when association members, who took control of the bank accounts after Junge’s retirement, noticed unusual charges. After a review, the associations discovered a total loss of over $144,000. Junge was charged with multiple counts of theft in 2023. Following a plea deal, she was sentenced on October 28th to five years of probation and ordered to pay $93,835.80 in restitution.
