Otter Tail County Probation recently hosted its annual program tour, shining a spotlight on key transitional housing efforts in the region. The tour featured visits to two programs run by North Homes Children and Family Services in Grand Rapids: the Teens in Transition Program and the Next Step Program. It also included a stop at the new adult male transition home operated by Rewind, Inc. in Perham.
Probation Director Michael A. Schommer emphasized the positive community impact of these programs, stating, “Assisting our clients, whether adults or juveniles, in successfully adjusting to a conventional lifestyle while receiving support and accountability is a win for the client and our community. Rewind, Inc. is a hidden gem in our backyard, with passionate staff dedicated to their mission. Public safety is best served when our clients are stable and thriving.”
