Hawley FB loses at Pelican Rapids Homecoming

Detroit Lakes , MN (KDLM)-

The Hawley Nuggets met up with the Pelican Rapids Vikings Friday night in the Vikings Homecoming matchup.

Hawley received the opening kickoff and went 3 and out and Pelican Rapids began at their own 40 and QB Grady Larson hit Trevyon Benson on a 32yard TD pass to go up 6-0.  The Nuggets responded on their next drive, but used a Fake Punt, as Zak Libak ran 46yards for a TD and the Nuggets went up 706 with the extra point.  The Vikings came right back on their next drive with 65yard pass from Larson to Benson, but again the 2pt conversion was missed.  Hawley then fumbled their next Offensive play and Pelican punched their third score in, in the First Quarter at 4:47, going up 18-7.  It remained 18-7 until the Nuggets scored at 4:04 of the 4th Quarter, the 2pt conversion got Hawley to with 18-15, with 4 minutes left.  After a Viking punt, the Nuggets had one final opportunity with 2:10 left, they made it into Viking territory, but on 4th and 10, threw an incompletion, to seal the Viking Homecoming Victory, 18-15.  The Vikings go to Roseau next Friday and Hawley Hosts their Homecoming game with Warroad on 10/11 at 6pm on KRCQ.  Zak Libak was named the Muscatell Burns Ford MVP of the Game.  The Volleyball Team hosts Perham for their Dig Pink night on Tuesday 10/8 at 7:30pm on KRCQ.
