**Sanford Health Explores AI in Healthcare to Benefit Local Communities**

Sep 4, 2024 | 7:27 AM

Sanford Health is participating in a major forum to discuss the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into healthcare, with a focus on how these advancements could benefit communities, including those in the Detroit Lakes area. Dr. David Newman, Sanford Health’s Chief Medical Officer of Virtual Care, will speak at the “AI in Healthcare Forum” on September 5 and 6 in Boston, focusing on the challenges and opportunities of implementing AI in healthcare settings.

Dr. Newman will address how AI can transform patient care by enhancing virtual care services, reducing disparities in healthcare access, and bringing advanced care closer to home for patients across rural America, including Minnesota. This initiative aligns with Sanford Health’s ongoing efforts to innovate healthcare delivery, particularly through the upcoming Sanford Virtual Care Center, set to open later this year in Sioux Falls.

For residents in the Detroit Lakes area, these advancements mean better access to healthcare services via telemedicine and potentially more tailored, efficient care. The use of AI could help local healthcare providers manage patient care more effectively, reduce wait times, and improve overall patient outcomes.

As Sanford Health continues to expand its digital health initiatives, the integration of AI into everyday healthcare practices promises to offer significant improvements for both patients and providers in our community.
